MACCHA APP PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy clarifies how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when visiting our Application (the “Application", or “APP”) and website “Site”. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY'S TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE APPLICATION.


Maccha (Maccha Community Limited Gemma House, 39 Lilestone Street, London NW8 8SS) (“we”) respect the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”). The user covers both individual users and business account users where applicable.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter “Privacy Policy”) describes how we collect and use the Personal Data that we receive about you, as well as your rights in relation to the use of our services, including those offered through the APP like communications (e.g., emails, phone calls, and texts) (collectively, the “Service”).

1. COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may collect, transmit, and store information about you in connection with your use of the Service, including any information you send to or through the Service. The information may be used to provide in research and analysis relating to the Service, personalize your experience, track usage of the Service, provide feedback to third-party businesses that are listed on the Service, provide customer support, message you, back up our systems, allow for disaster recovery, enhance the security of the Service, and comply with legal obligations. Account Data

When you create an account, you give us information for your account to be set up. We will not reveal your phone number, email address, date of birth, exact address, biometric data or real name to other users; but may use the information for business-related activities.

 

However, other information entered during account set up, such as gender, what you’re looking for and age are visible to other users in order to help users find profiles that are relevant.

 

When you provide your contact information, i.e. phone number and email, you agree for us to contact you to complete account authentication, or to log in.


Profile DataWhen you complete account set up, you can opt in to give additional information, such as your hobbies, personality type, prompt answers; if you choose to provide data, you consent to us using it. Other users will be able to see any profile data you provide
ContentWhen you use our service, you may post photos, videos, text and other types of content, such as chart with other members. You may post in the feed, create events, post in the forum, and upload a feed. These data are all deemed public for other users to view and comment on.
Marketing, Survey and Research DataWe sometimes run (i) surveys, focus groups, or market studies for research purposes and (ii) promotions, events or contests for marketing purposes. When you choose to participate, you give us information to process your entr and participation, as well as your responses to our questions and your feedback.
Third Party DataWhen you choose to share with us information about other people, you grant us access to that data, and we process this data on your behalf to complete your request. For example, in the SOS feature, or hide profile from certain profiles’ feature, this data is processed on your behalf.
Customer Support DataWhen you contact us, you provide us with information that may be necessary to help address your inquiry. Other people may also submit queries or reports involving you. Our moderation tools and teams can collect additional data as part of their investigations. Where legally allowed, we can also receive information about suspected or convicted bad actors from third parties as part of our efforts to ensure our members’ safety and security.
Social Media DataYou may decide to share data with us through your accounts on other platforms (e.g. Facebook, Google, Apple), for instance if you decide to create and log into your account via these platforms.
Usage DataUsing the service generates data about your activity, including how you use it (e.g. when you logged, features you’ve been using etc.)
Technical DataUsing the service involves the collection of data from and about the device(s) you use to access our service, including hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID and type, app settings and characteristics, app crashes etc. We may request access to your mobile devices, i.e. to your photo gallery or camera to enable certain features in the APP. Device information such as your mobile device ID number, model, manufacturer, version of your operating system, phone number, country, location, may also be collected. When you log into the APP on a browser or device, we will associate that browser or device with your account for purposes such as authentication, security, and personalization. Subject to your settings, we may also associate your account with browsers or devices other than those you use to log into the APP or associate your logged-out device.
Location informationIf you give us permission, we can collect your geolocation data from you. If you decline permission, we will provide a location input option. We require information about your signup and current location, which we get from signals such as your IP address or device settings, to securely and reliably set up and maintain your account and to provide our services to you. Subject to your settings, we may collect, use, and store additional information about your location - such as your current precise position or places where you’ve previously used the APP - to operate or personalize our services, this may include local trends, trending stories and suggestions for people you may follow or find other users on the APP to connect with.
Face Geometry DataYou may choose to participate in certain features, such as facial identification during sign in, which may be considered biometric data in some jurisdictions

3. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS & COMMUNICATION

We may request to send you push notifications regarding our services and your account through the APP, by email or text. We may also send marketing communication through the APP, by email or text, but you have the rights to stop those communication by opting out in the APP, or replying to our communication with “unsubscribe”.

4.  INFORMATION WE SHARE AND DISCLOSE

A.  LAW, HARM, AND THE PUBLIC INTEREST


Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy or controls we may otherwise offer to you, we may preserve, use, share, or disclose your personal data or other safety data if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to protect the safety or integrity of our platform, including to help prevent spam, abuse, or malicious actors on our services, or to explain why we have removed content or accounts from our services; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property or the rights or property of those who use our services. However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s request to disclose your personal data.


B. AFFILIATES AND CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP


In the event that we are involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal data may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. This Privacy Policy will apply to your personal data as transferred to the new entity. We may also disclose personal data about you to our corporate affiliates in order to help operate our services and our affiliates’ services.


C. THIRD PARTIES


We are not responsible for the actions of third parties with whom you share personal or sensitive data, and we have no authority to manage or control third-party solicitations.  If you no longer wish to receive correspondence, emails, or other communications from third parties, you are responsible for contacting the third party directly.


D. COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS


We may use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, and other tracking technologies on the Application to help customize the Application and improve your experience. When you access the Application, your personal information is not collected through the use of tracking technology.


E. CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL DATA


Other users may identify you or associate you with your account if you include personal information in the content you post publicly. You can reduce the risk of being personally identified by using the Service pseudonymously, though doing so could detract from the credibility of your contributions to the Service.


F. STORING AND TRANSFERRING YOUR DATA


When you delete your account, your user profile, social media feed and events created and interested in will also be deleted. However, your posts will still be visible in the community forum. We may retain information about you for the purposes authorized under this Privacy Policy unless prohibited by law. We may retain information to prevent, investigate, or identify possible wrongdoing connected to the Service or comply with legal obligations. We may also maintain residual copies of your personal information in our backup systems. The personal information we collect may be transferred to and stored in countries outside of the jurisdiction you are in where our affiliates and our third party service providers have operations. If you are located in the UK or European Economic Area (“EEA”), your personal information may be transferred outside of the UK and EEA respectively to a country which is not recognised by the UK or European Commission as ensuring an adequate level of protection for personal data. These international transfers of your personal information will be made pursuant to appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission and UK government (as applicable).


We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption, to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful access, destruction, loss, alteration, or damage. All personal information we collect will be stored on our secure servers. Where data processing is carried out on our behalf by a third party, we take steps to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to prevent unauthorised disclosure of personal information.


Despite these precautions, however, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet or that unauthorised persons will not obtain access to personal information.

CHILDREN (18 and under)

You must not use our Services if you are under the age of 18. No one under age 18 may provide any information through our Services. If you are under 18, you must not use any of our services or features, register an account, make any purchases, or provide any information including but not limited to: your name, address, telephone number, email address, username. We do not knowingly collect personal information relating to anyone under this age. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from an individual under 18, we will promptly delete that information.
